The Montagu Project is a multi-decade global learning lab supported by a collaboration between the University of Southern Maine, the Rural Arts Development Foundation, and RedZebra (a global training company). In partnership with seven South African non-profits and numerous sponsors and supporters based on both sides of the ocean, the Project provides fertile ground for personal and professional growth, acquiring global leadership skills, and realizing community development initiatives.
Project alums provide further fuel for our many initiatives and projects. Some principal players in these efforts are Kathy Roy, Lihle Mfene, Laura Personette, Sydwell Speelman, Gregg Garrison, Jason Antonie, Allison Johnston, Antio Arendorf, Veronica Gorlovsky, Peter-James van der Berg, Sara Brown, Leah Graves, Dana Gallant, and Gabrielle Lodge.

As a result of footage we took of Lihle Mfene dancing in Montagu one summer, he was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Young Dancers Workshop at the Bates Dance Festival. We couldn't be prouder of him!
